I suffer from Homestuck.

Yes, I know, You’ve never heard of Homestuck(This is too all the people on Facebook. You just don’t k n o w the pain.).

Homestuck includes panic/anxiety disorder, unpredictable mood swings, and the undying urge to rip my heart out(Usually every update). My illness has made me rather anti-social and, I dare say, urged me to Cosplay. Yes. I cosplay. Don’t feel bad for me. I have no pale feelings for you.

But to make this message short. To get to the point.

I know I’m not the only one with Homestuck.

Equius joined her in loading the car as much as he could with food.

“How will you keep your car fueled up?” Equius inquired of his moirail after loading his own medical supplies into the car as well. How was he even going to fit? Ride on the top? He shook his head a little and waited for her answer. 

Nepeta looked from Equius to the ridiculous pink smart car and sighed. She was indeed running low on fuel. And she was getting sick of the smart car. It was time for a new one. ‘I had fuel stored. And I’m still half full from the last time I filled up… But I think, with the two of us, it’s time for a new car.’ She shrugged, looking around the area for any kind of car without a roof.

It didn’t take long for her to find one; a yellow thing with a retractable roof. She started transferring the things in the smart car to it. When she got that finished, she pulled an empty gas container from the car, as well as a tube, and, feeding the tube into the smart car, she siphoned the gas into the container. Then, after checking the gas level in the yellow car, she stuck the rest in the back, and after getting in the front, smiled at Equius, placing the radio on the front console.

“I do not have a car. I am….far too tall for one I believe” He almost laughed. Almost. To answer your question we’ll need water, lots of it. I nearly died getting here.” Equius stood up again and looked around. “And perhaps some cans of soup, anything we can eat quickly and without much preparation” He wiped his brow and put his gas mask back on.

He still wanted to find Aradia, now more than ever. 

Nepeta nodded and picked up the empty bag she’d brought into the store with her, and her gun. She’d planned on picking up supplies anyways, even if she hadn’t found him. She started picking up practical food, packing it into the bag carefully, filling the bag with as much food as she could.

‘Lets get food into my car then. I’ll pull it closer to the front of the store.’ Closing the bag, and pulling it onto her shoulders, she brought it out to her car, slinging it into the trunk and driving the car to the front of the store. Then she went back in and started collecting water bottles.

Equius carefully wrapped his arms around her, wary that despite the control he’d developed over the years, he could still snap her in half if he did anything recklessly.

“I must be honest, if my dreams and nightmares have been in fact memories, mine is very, very shoddy.” He whispered, starting to feel self-conscious about the sweat that glazed his body. 

Equius tenderly pushed Nepeta to sit up “There are others, Aradia and a human, Jade, and Terezi Pyrope. They are all alive.”

Nepeta sat up when Equius pushed her up, and took in his words. Aradia… Jade… Terezi… She’d known Aradia and Terezi, but not Jade… Jade… reminded her of her dreams. Of the swirling colors in them, and the lines that connected people together.

But enough of that. She was with Equius again, and that was comforting. He felt like home. Nepeta looked around and took in the convenience store. ‘Anything you think we’ll n33d furom here? We can put it in my car. Unless you have one?’ She looked over at him and tilted her head questioningly.

Equius took a moment to let the information sink in. “we are…moirails…”

The larger troll sat back and rest his elbows on his knees, fingers pressed to his temples.

His dreams…olive green and red….

Olive green….

“Nepeta….” he looked up, feeling of relief washing over him. “you came for me..”

She nodded, a small smile gracing her features for the first time since she’d come up and seen the zombies. Nepeta crawled over to Equius and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder, and crying softly.

‘I missed you so much…’ She said softly, eyes shut tightly. And for the first time since she’d come above ground, finally having her moirail beside her, she let go of all the emotions she’d been holding back. Hysterical giggles mixed with sobs, and all that time she held on to Equius.

Equius tilted his head at her curiously. He was starting to get the feeling this wasn’t Aradia but. “You seem so familiar to me…who are you?” He felt as if he’d found his other half. 

He squat down so he was nearly at eye level with her. “You are important to me, I feel. I just need to know who you are, e%actly.” 

Nepeta frowned at him, reaching out her hand to touch his face and make sure he was real, and she wasn’t just delusional. But no; if this had been a delusion, he would have know her instantly. Well, maybe he was delusional.

‘Equius, it’s me, Nepeta. Your meowrail.’

She watched him for a moment before dropping her face and looking at the floor. if he didn’t recognize her… She couldn’t bear the thought.

Equius caught sight of her first and felt that same ache in his chest he felt when speaking to Aradia.

Maybe it was her. “aradia?” he rasped, standing to full height slowly.

Nepeta’s first instinct when she heard his voice was to jump on him. Her entire body tensed and she spun around with her weapon in her hands almost immediately, trained on him. And then she stared at him. Her mind was slowly registering what he’d said.

‘… Equius… Did you just call me Aradia?’

Her mouth was open, her eyes disbelieving, and her hands falling to her sides. Since when did he get her confused with Aradia. It took little for her to start backing away from him, into the shelving behind her, at which she fell on the ground, hard. Little for her to stare at him, eyes tearing up, and disbelief coloring the rest of her features.

Nepeta knew Equius well. 

He had found a convenience store just inside the city limits, and was guzzling water in the corner, axe at his side, gasmask with his gear in a neat pile behind him as he chugged bottle after bottle with reckless abandon. 

It was hot, too hot, and he knew he was lucky to have survived that long. Equius knew he’d have to find a way to transport water with him, and find a map of the state. Especially if he wanted to survive another trip. 

Nepeta would take care of Equius.

The same convenience store was where Nepeta was headed now. She’d noticed it when she’d come out of the city, and again when she’d gotten back into her car. It  looked secure, but that was never really the case. Either way, she had her gun in her hand as she pushed the door open. She didn’t see anyone immediately, and most of the things on the shelves were still there, so she doubted anyone’d been there. But still.

Nepeta looked around the room carefully, slinging her weapon across her back as she spied the back wall with it’s multitude of beverages. Easy in and out at the very least. She headed back, not quite noticing Equius in the corner.

Nepeta: Wake Up

She’d been traveling since she heard the broadcast of her closest friend and moirail. That said, traveling almost two thousand miles takes a while. Almost a week at the very least. Well; if she’d driven non-stop, she would have been there in 32 hours. But because she’s not an android, it takes about a week. Longer if she stops for necessarily supplies and to avoid infested cities. 

So it’s around six am when she makes it into Houston, having woken up just half an hour earlier. Her search begins immediately. She know’s he’d been hanging around Houston because his previous radio calls had said as much. She also knew for a fact that Equius wasn’t the only one near Houston. But he was who she was looking for. She drove slowly through making as little noise as possible, while scanning the empty streets for anyone she recognized.

And the streets were empty. Whether of humans or trolls, undead or not, there was nothing. And that was concerning. Driving until she reached the outskirts of town, she got out and scanned Houston. There seemed to be a commotion near one of the malls, which wasn’t surprising. Malls were generally the first to go in zombie movies. But she doubted that Equius would be there. That was just plain stupid.
